Position Overview
International has a entry-level contract position for a Color and Material Designer!
This is a hybrid role best suited for candidates within a reasonable driving distance of Navistar's headquarters in Lisle, IL. To enable in-person collaboration and connection we request openness to be physically in the Lisle office three days per week.
As a Color and Materials Designer Contractor, you will be a part of the Innovation and Design Team helping to shape the future of the commercial truck and bus industries. As part of Traton, a global company, our design team is active in the development of emerging technologies, electrification, autonomous driving, and environmentally sustainable products.

Responsibilities
Ideate, visualize, and develop design proposals for colors, materials, and finishes with the highest level of craftsmanship for our brands - International Truck and IC Bus
Develop digital and physical C&M presentations that show a future vision for our vehicles
Review and approve color, materials, and finishes for all vehicle exterior and interior surfaces utilizing cutting edge technology and equipment
Collaborate and strategize with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Branding, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supplier Quality
Establish and maintain relationships with our suppliers and vendors to manage design and color intent through material development and mastering
Research and develop sustainable materials, processes, and methodologies for production implementation
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current International employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
BFA in CMF/Industrial/Transportation or related design
Entry-level (intern) experience in a related industry
Understanding of color theory and material properties
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Proficiency in VRED, or similar
Proficiency using Microsoft (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
