Summary About the Position: This position is located on Fort Shafter, Hawaii, which is near the Historical Palm Circle on the island of Oahu. For information about Hawaii, the island of Oahu and US Army Pacific, visit: http://www.hvcb.org and https://www.army.mil/usarpac Responsibilities Serve as the Safety and Occupational Health Director for the U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC). Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and supervising the USARPAC Safety Program. Responsible as the technical safety advisor/consultant to the USARPAC Commander and senior leaders. Formulate Theater level safety policies and procedures for a wide range of accident prevention measures. Principal staff advisor for USARPAC on all accident prevention matters to include force protection, safety policies and procedures, accident reporting and analysis, occupational safety and health hazards, and field training exercises. Represent the USARPAC commander when attending safety meetings, seminars and conferences. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. ???????Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing military safety and occupational health management programs; applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise and resolve technical matters dealing with military safety and occupational health management programs; and developing and implementing safety and occupational health standards, practices, and procedures to eliminate or minimize safety issues and potential hazards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. A supervisory probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
