Job Summary
OSU Cascades is seeking a Director of Hospitality Services Manager. This is a full-time, 12-month, professional faculty position located in Bend, OR.
In support of the OSU Cascades mission and strategic plan, the Director of Hospitality provides programs and services that support internal and external university stakeholders, operate according to fiscally resilient and environmentally sustainable principles and creatively utilize resources to develop and execute innovative programming. The Director is responsible for managing staff, equipment and facilities, vendor and client agreements and is expected to make recommendations to executive management. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Life, the Director of Hospitality provides leadership for dining, catering, campus events, conference services and retail operations. The Director allocates resources and develops budgets within established parameters and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating short and long-range goals and objectives for the areas of responsibility. The Director will develop, implement and enforce plans, policies, procedures, and performance standards guided by the university mission and strategic plan, campus mission and goals, and the Student Affairs strategic plan. The Director is expected to collaborate with partners at Oregon State University to ensure adherence to common practice and university policies and makes recommendations for changes in policy and practices to continually improve service delivery. The Associate Dean for Student Life provides supervision, guidance and direction as needed.
This position oversees the dining, event production, conference and retail/merchandising functions of the campus. It is focused on serving students and providing quality programs and services for students, faculty, staff and the community. The Director will be pivotal to the integration of our dining and events teams, fostering a culture of exceptional customer service that contributes directly to student retention and academic success. This position is ideal for an experienced professional looking to making a significant impact in a vibrant and growing campus environment.
OSU-Cascades is a campus of Oregon State University (OSU). It is a small and personable four-year university in beautiful Central Oregon. We are the only university in Central Oregon that offers both baccalaureate and graduate programs. Our 10 acre campus is the first public university to open in Oregon in more than 50 years with plans to expand academically with new degree programs over a 10-year period. The campus is comprised of 4 OSU-Cascades buildings with a 5th currently in construction. There are over 1,300 students with 175 faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
Dining-30%Supervise Cascades Dining Executive Chef and Dining Manager in providing dining options that meet the taste preferences, nutritional needs, price and dietary requests of our students, faculty and staff.Ensure catering services provide quality products and servicesOversee inventory and procurement for dining operations, food retail, catering and kitchen equipmentOversee regulatory compliance and quality control effortsDevelop strategies to ensure human resources are adequate to provide coverage and expertise in all areas of food serviceEvents-40%
Develop and supervise a team of event planning staff (3) who support events hosted by student organizations, university departments and external clientsWork with clients to ensure high quality event production. This may range from basic logistics to full-service event planning supportCommunicate, apply and interpret university policies and procedures, develop internal policies to guide event implementationFacilitate regular meetings with event implementation partners such as catering and facilities staff to ensure all event details are communicated and executed; monitor and ensure effective workflowOversee non-academic use of campus spaceWork with appropriate university risk management staff to facilitate approval of on campus events with alcoholDevelop a consistent customer service philosophy to meet a wide range of client and campus needs.Conferences-15%

Bachelor's degree in business/finance or hospitality related field
Five years of experience in an operational management role related to the responsibilities of this position, including:

What We Would Like You to Have

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Shift and/or work assignment may be changed based on operational needs. Hours will vary at times due to responsibility for evening and weekend programming. Weekends and holiday work may be required. Some lifting, standing for periods of time, and working outdoors may be required. Local travel will be required, as will occasional statewide travel. This is an onsite position (Cascades campus).
This position is deemed essential and the incumbent is expected to report to work during inclement weather, emergency and other University work curtailments or closures.
