Join our team in Sparta as a who is a key strategic partner that is responsible for driving HR initiatives to curate a positive workplace culture while enhancing the life cycle of both salaried and hourly employees. In this position, you will lead performance management, talent development and succession planning for the manufacturing plant in Sparta. This role demands a deep understanding of plant needs, workforce dynamics, and leadership development. The Human Resource Manager is an active member of the tesa North America (NAM) HR Team and the Sparta Plant Management Team.
What you'll do:
Strategic HR Collaboration:Collaborate with the General Manager to shape the company's long-term goals and missionWork with plant leadership to align annual objectives with performance processes, including goal setting, succession planning, professional development, and reviewsPartner with key leaders to address workforce needs and challenges, driving HR initiatives that support plant strategyApply insights from plant floor and leadership interactions to achieve operating plansEmployee Relations:
Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR matters across all shiftsManages employee relations, including coaching, supporting and guiding local supervision to ensure that the workforce is appropriately engaged and to minimize undesirable turnoverConduct investigations and recommends resolutionsCreate and implement recognition and relationship-building programsLead exit interviews, offering feedback and suggestions for improvementOversee plant headcount and cost managementEmployee Training and Development:
Train and coach leaders on effective people management, including communication, coaching, discipline, performance improvement, and terminationsCollaborate with Talent Management to deliver leadership training on standards, diversity, conflict resolution, harassment, and more to promote a positive work environmentOversee the Mechatronics apprenticeship program for current and future talentManage state grants to maximize reimbursement opportunitiesAdministrativeThrough coordinated effort with the HR Assistant, documents and submits employee data changes timely in accordance with established payroll, HR practices and policies as defined by Regional HRRepresent the plant in quality audits, including IATF and customer audits of employee competence/ training and motivation.Participate in all leadership position interviews to ensure that the selected candidates meets plant expectations for positive people management.Perform other duties as assignedWhat you will need:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, employment relations, psychology or business administration.HR certification or Master's degree in HR; preferred7-10 years of Human Resources experience, including at least 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience working in a Center of Excellence, or Shared Services HR modelExcellent communication and coaching skillsAbility to drive performance and talent management processesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailWorking knowledge of current employment and laws/regulations.Willing and able to support employees on all shifts; accessible by phone to 3rd shift employees, meeting in person when needed
