Description
San Diego Mission Bay Resort is a sprawling 357-room resort, boasting multiple dining options, a beautiful, renovated pool, a kid's pool, astonishing Bay views, fire pits and so much more. We are excited to welcome a new Staff Accountant to our Mission Bay Family.
The San Diego Mission Bay Resort is currently accepting applications for a Staff Accountant. This is a key position in the resort's finance department. The responsibilities of this position will include:
Review and complete daily income audit journalMonitor guest ledger accounts, review work transferred by night audit from guest ledger to city ledger, tracks revenue, reconciles taxes and credit transactionsAssist with month end closing processAssist with resort labor controlAssist departments with general ledger research and re-class entriesAssist with GL Functions (Entry Creation, Viewing Entries, Copy and Print, Run Queries).Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts as assignedUnderstand and ensure compliance with all Finance SOPsPrepare monthly journal entries as assigned.Assist with Audit requests.Assist monthly forecastingPrepare and distribute the various reports when neededMaintain open communication with all departmentsPerform other tasks requested by the Controller and Director of Finance
Requirements
• Accounting administrative experience, to include hotel front office experience, within past three years. Hotel accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• College degree or formal accounting education preferred.
• Previous experience in high customer contact environment; with previous experience answering customer questions and handling customer concerns.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
• Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations
• Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions with strong problem-solving skills
• Developed computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office.
• Maintain professional appearance offering a positive experience to all guests.
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to meet scheduling demands to include Monday-Friday office hours and weekends as needed.
