About the Position
The Center’s External Affairs Team seeks a dynamic, flexible, and experienced digital outreach and strategy professional to join our growing team. Reporting to the Senior Director of External Affairs, the Director of Digital Strategy will lead the planning and execution of the Center’s public-facing digital structure, online engagement, website, and content offerings that span in-gallery and online.
Responsibilities
Digital Engagement Strategy
Craft and implement high-level strategy for digital engagement leading to MCAAD’s public opening and beyond, with tactical and practical plans for seeing projects to completion and measuring success.
Work closely with the Executive Director, leadership, and content teams to establish MCAAD’s unique value proposition in a busy virtual landscape.
Manage team members and external vendors and keep website development on track and on time.
Platform Development
Work closely with Senior Director of External Affairs, Director of Marketing and Communications, and relevant MI teams to design and launch a new Visitor Center website.
Work closely with MCAAD’s content team and digital project managers and vendors on developing and implementing digital experiences that span in-galleries and online.
Lead or liaise with teams responsible for ticketing, CMS, and space management for the best possible integration.
Ongoing Content Creation and Digital Engagement
Identify areas and opportunities for MCAAD to create original content, repurpose content, or commission content, and create and implement plans for creation.
Build and lead a new Digital Strategy team to manage web presence and digital-first content creation.
Work closely with audience engagement teams to map out editorial calendars, launches, announcements, and social media campaigns.
Present to stakeholders and the public when requested.
Requirements
At least 8 years of experience developing digital platforms, outreach, and strategy for nonprofits, policy or advocacy organizations, museums, or similar public-facing cultural venues, with 3 years managing people.
Clear track record of successful launches of new online platforms and products.
Proven experience building CMS systems and working in HTML.
Expertise in development tools and technologies, including CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, and content management systems.
Ability to create engaging user interfaces for online products.
Experience managing vendors for wireframes, prototypes, and intuitive navigation systems.
Experience with user research techniques to inform design decisions.
Ability to manage the development and lifecycle of online products successfully.
Strong project management skills working across complex teams.
Background or special interest in areas related to MCAAD’s mission is beneficial.
Ability to develop positive working relationships and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
This position will work in a professional office environment and may require occasional travel to other offices and venues.
Note
We are interested in qualified candidates who are eligible to work in the United States. This position will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to your respective office location.
