Residential Field Trainer

will provide training and on-the-job coaching in essential job skills for all residential youth workers. Plan, organize, develop, coordinate and schedule residential staff development programs to assure the implementation of a Trauma Informed framework and that the highest degree of quality care can be maintained at all times. Continue to perform all functions as a Sr. Youth Care Worker to include working assigned shifts in the cottages as scheduled.Essential Functions:Conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO) trainings and monthly reviews for residential staff in Safe Crisis Management to ensure staff obtain/maintain certification in this area.Conduct adjunctive trainings for residential staff, as assigned by program leadership.

(Some examples may include residential documentation, the use of the electronic health records system (Credible), verbal de-escalation, milieu management, etc.)Provide one-on-one coaching to residential youth workers in the cottage environment to ensure the achievement of necessary job skills and to implement a Trauma Informed experience for clients.Track employee attendance at required trainings and communicate any deficiencies to residential supervisors/director.Work with residential supervisors to develop a “hybrid” schedule that will allow for continued functioning as a Sr. Youth Care Worker and completion of shifts in the cottages approximately 100 hours per month.

Residential Field Trainer duties are estimated to require approximately 50 hours per month.Complete all duties as already assigned under the Sr. Youth Care Worker job description.Select, develop and/or update appropriate instructional content, testing and evaluation procedures, visual aids and other educational materials.Develop an annual and monthly training calendar.

Ensure trainings/coaching is offered at a variety of dates and times to accommodate the staffing needs of the program and employees.Other duties may be assigned.Education and/or Experience:Certification as Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Instructor.Experience working as a Sr. Youth Care Worker for St. Joseph Children’s Home with evident knowledge of trauma informed milieu management, verbal de-escalation and the effective use of Emergency Safety Physical Interventions using JKM approved techniques.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must become certified in CPR, First Aid, Safe Crisis Management, and Defensive Driver’s training.
