The American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA) is the national trade association representing leading laboratories that deliver essential diagnostic health information to patients and providers by advocating for policies that expand access to the highest quality clinical laboratory services, improve patient outcomes, and advance the next generation of personalized care.POSITION SUMMARY:The Association Coordinator assists the ACLA senior staff by supporting the day-to-day operations of the association, including scheduling and preparation for meetings, project management and tracking of data related to association activities through the association’s member management platform, development of the association’s weekly newsletter, and maintenance of some portions of ACLA website content. The Association Coordinator assists with planning and execution of the ACLA Annual Membership Meeting. This position offers opportunities for professional growth through active collaboration with ACLA policy and advocacy staff members and engagement with ACLA member company representatives and outside stakeholders.ACLA offers robust benefits to all employees, including comprehensive healthcare benefits. Annual salary for this position is $52,500–$62,500.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:• Supports coordination of ACLA leadership activities, ACLA member working groups, and outside public and private sector stakeholders through scheduling, calendar invitations, meeting planning, and development of meeting agendas and materials.• Provides project management support for ACLA team members as needed.• Assists with planning and execution of ACLA’s Annual Meeting.• Tracks member engagement using the association’s member management platform.• Leads the development of the association’s weekly newsletter, Lab News, coordinating submissions and drafting articles and distributing the final product to all members and associate members via Constant Contact.• Assists in development of association presentations via PowerPoint, reports and correspondence in Word, and data tracking in Excel.• Provides occasional updates to ACLA’s website as needed, such as posting of new resources.• Supports association advocacy by:o Contributing to the team’s federal and state legislative tracking and tracking of Capitol Hill engagement.o Coordinating in-person and virtual Capitol Hill visits.o Assisting in Political Action Committee management.o Collaborating with the association’s public affairs team on grassroots advocacy.• Serves as staff lead responsible for core administrative duties supporting the office, which include greeting in-person and virtual visitors and general telephone or email inquiries.• Performs other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:• Strong written and oral communication skills.• Robust organizational skills.• Scheduling know-how.• Microsoft Office 365/ Excel/ PowerPoint/Zoom and other basic computer skills and management of videoconferencing systems.• Association management software abilities (experience with MatrixMaxx member management platform a plus), WordPress website management, basic HTML.• Task and project management skills.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree required.• Prefer some experience within a trade association or on Capitol Hill.• Experience managing multiple projects and complex schedules.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.• Research or legislative tracking experience preferred.OFFICE FORMAT:• Office-based with some remote work ability.APPLICATION PROCESS:To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume and writing sample via e-mail to ACLA Chief of Advocacy Operations at eoveson@acla.com.
