We have an exciting opportunity for an Office Leader and Client Service Manager (CSM) with a demonstrated background in business development, client relations, and delivery of municipal water, wastewater and stormwater engineering projects, and a history of successfully leading professionals, to join our team. This position will be based in our St Paul, MN office and will serve as a key leadership team member in continuing to grow our business in the Midwest. In this capacity, you will have responsibilities that include overseeing the administration of employees, sales, client development, client relationship management, professional engineering services proposal writing and contract scope, schedule and price preparation, and client service team leadership.In this position, you will work closely with the Midwest Area Leader, and other team members to help lead the development and execution of the St Paul business plan and lead sales and business operations for the office. Responsibilities include client portfolio management, initiative management, project delivery oversight, and/or total labor management within the Business. You will demonstrate the ability to lead BC employees and work.collaboratively with other leaders in the best interest of our Company. You will also foster the BC Experience for all employees in an office, and for the clients and business partners in the markets in which you engage, by modeling behavior that reflects BC values. The Local Leader plays a critical role in leading the engagement of all employees in an office location, regardless of the group to which they belong, driving organizational health and enabling the virtual enterprise from the local office level and across the business. Detailed duties include the following:Work with Business Leader to develop, communicate, and deliver a business plan that supports overall Company objectivesConnect with the business units, enterprise groups, and corporate groups as necessary to bring the right resources to bear on client projectsDeliver business metrics which may include new sales in (NSI), total direct labor (DL; import + source), and total indirect labor (IDL; import + source)Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to drive "on plan" project delivery for the BusinessDrive sales by partnering with client service managers (CSM's) and the marketing teamPartner with the Business Leader to drive resource performance management, succession planning, and employee engagementAttract, develop, and retain top talentManage company risk by ensuring compliance with the Company Risk PoliciesModel BC Values to our employees and clientsCommunicate and model BC Safety standards to all BC employeesLead the organizational health of the office through an "open door policy" for all BC employeesFacilitate the completion of, and respond to issues identified in, the BC Organizational Health SurveyManage BC social spending funds for the office to maximize employee benefitConnect the municipal, enterprise, private sector, and corporate staff into a unified office team around BC Values and MissionDevelop and lead community engagement efforts and organize local resources for participation and impactServe as an extension of the Company/Enterprise/Regional/Area Leadership to convey important Company information and promote initiativesWork with leaders in all groups to help recruit, retain and develop employeesNetwork with other Local Leaders to help ensure mutual success and to collaborate/share best practicesBe a visible leader in the environmental industry in the office geography and within the BusinessHold monthly staff meetings to inform and engage all staff assigned to the office
Desired Skills and Experience:B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental etc.) required; M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on wastewater and water preferred
Exhibits leadership core competencies ( emotional intelligence, communication, teamwork, problem solving, interpersonal skills, business acumen, etc. )
Professional registration in Minnesota or the credentials to obtain registration in a timely manner is also strongly preferred
10 or more years of increasingly responsible experience in the environmental consulting, engineering, construction and operations industryExperience with water/wastewater design, planning and studies along with leadership on projects
Proven ability to leverage resources throughout the enterpriseWillingness to champion the use of BC standard tools and processes
Ability to successfully manage clients and projects in a collaborative fashion and interface with Brown and Caldwell's local, regional, and national water and wastewater practitioners as well as help mentor junior staffSelf-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight deadlinesSuccessful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience a plusPrevious supervisory experience with strong written and verbal communication skills requiredValid driver's license and good driving record requiredAbility to travel to visit local clients and to attend out-of-town business meetings, as required
Salary Range:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
