www.ucihealth.org.Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:Incumbent plays an ongoing key role in the organization's goal of increasing automation within the department, either via existing or new technology or process improvements while ensuring compliance with government mandated HIPAA requirements in the claims arena. This position will implement, modify and troubleshoot specified systems or applications, data flows, information transmissions, and report designs throughout the receivables cycle while providing production support to both staff and PFS Leadership. Using a collaborative process, the incumbent will contribute significantly to the analysis of accurate data exchange between Registration, Patient Financial Services, Patient Access Services, Revenue Audit and the different systems/applications (e.g. claim scrubber, contractual writeoff calculators, address validation, dialers, etc.) that interface directly or indirectly (e.g. via sftp process) to the current patient account system while adhering to compliance and security policies and procedures to ensure the current AR system security.What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired Qualifications:Understanding of billing related EDI formats and requirementsStrong oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate with staff, senior management and external constituentsStrong knowledge of healthcare automated systems utilized in a Business Office environmentStrong knowledge of MS Office products to include Excel, Access, PowerPoint and WordStrong analytical skills with the ability to summarize key information clearly and conciselyMust possess the knowledge to map specifications for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) using ANSI-837Familiarity with rules and regulations governing various payersDetailed knowledge of registration, billing and collections processes and data requirements gained through at least two years experience working in a hospital based environment utilizing an automated Patient Accounting systemDemonstrated knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, WordAbility to work independently and take initiative to identify priorities and manage workload accordinglyAbility to think critically and problem solve independently as well as collaboratively as requiredAbility to read and understand intent of regulatory documents to be able to assess impact on current operational processesAbility to lead others on a project basisAbility to identify process improvement opportunities and develop and recommend new processes as neededPreferred Qualifications:Specific knowledge of Invision Patient Accounting SystemProject management experienceKnowledge of UC policies and proceduresBachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Computer SciencesConditions of Employment:The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
