Job Description:Iron EagleX

is looking for a Platform Engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with cloud-based resources, to help us modernize a DoD client's data architecture. We are seeking an engineer who is comfortable stepping outside of their comfort zone and learning new technologies in order to propel our command into the future. This position is a hybrid position - 3 days a week on-site in Crystal City, VA.Job Duties Include (but not limited to):Leverage expertise in cloud-based data architectures to support mission-critical operations.

Recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, cloud based, and hybrid resources.Work with the client's migration teams to implement strategy and architecture design.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:Understanding of key tools and concepts such as Visual Studio, Docker, WSL and GitExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configure as Code (CaC)Design, manage and support code pipelinesExperience with AWS infrastructure and managed servicesExperience with AWS Federal/Isolated environmentsExperience deploying and supporting configuration management tools such as HelmExperience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK)/Software Development Kit (AWS SDK)/Command Line Interface (AWS CLI)Expertise in leveraging Automation/DevOps principles, experience with operational tools, and able to apply best practices for infrastructure and software deployment (Jenkins/Hashicorp Terraform/Helm/Saltstack)Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated tools such as (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD Continuous Deployment modelExperience with Kubernetes and Cloud Native InfrastructureExperience with Kubectl, K9s, helm charts, namespaces, services and virtual services, secrets and configmaps, helm releases, git repos, pod statusContainerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm etc.)Manage and maintain container-based applications deployed in cloud container servicesExperience with Keycloak, sonarqube, ELK or PLG Stack (logging), Grafana, FluxCD/ArgoCDBash ScriptingDoD IAT Level 2 compliant certificationDue to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this roleDesired Skills:Experience with applying DoD security technical implementation guides (STIGs) and automating that processExperience with working in defense or intelligence community cloud environments is a plusExperience with developing and managing machine images or templates to automate cloud deploymentsExperience with optimizing cloud environments, including leveraging native cloud capabilities, right-sizing servers, expanding storage, and tracking cost efficiencies at the microservice levelExperience with configuring and aggregating logs for data analysis using Splunk or ELK solutionsEducation & Certifications:BS Degree in Computer Science Preferred or related fieldAWS certifications that are pertinent (in decreasing priority order):AWS Certified Solutions Architect - ProfessionalAWS Certified Solutions Architect - AssociateAWS Certified DevOps Engineer - ProfessionalAWS Certified SysOps Administrator - AssociateAWS Certified Developer - AssociateSecurity Clearance:An Active TS/SCI security clearance is requiredBenefits:National health, vision, and dental plans20 days of PTO and 11 paid holidaysLife InsuranceShort- and long-term disability plans401(K) retirement planIncentive and recognition programsRelocation opportunities
