BGE Inc is looking for a Director - Transportation Engineering Design to lead our Transportation Group in the San Antonio, TX office (San Pedro Ave near airport).Job Responsibilities
Lead teams designing TxDOT roadway paving & grading, drainage systems, stormwater drain systems, open channel conveyance, and culvert analysis.Lead teams performing roadway drainage analysis and design on multiple projects with complex features.Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepare models, evaluate results, and summarize findings for drainage impact studies, conveyance analysis, storage analysis, and improvements.Collaborate with Public Works/Water Resources Team on dam rehabilitations, storm sewer installations, and city water quality.Provide technical input/review of project deliverables.Be a recognized leader in the local community and actively engage with outside organizations.Maintain and develop key relationships with public and private clients, including strategic partners.Identify business development and growth opportunities through new and existing markets and clients.Recruit staff with necessary skills to drive growth initiatives.Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.Must be licensed in the State of Texas as a Project Engineer (PE).5-10+ years of experience in TxDOT drainage, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, or related surface water engineering preferred.Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling experience, including both steady and unsteady modeling (e.g. EPA SWMM) strongly preferred.Experience with complex drainage: urban drainage, restoration, reformation.Proficiency in drafting software (Open Roads Designer, MicroStation) and drainage design software (ORD Subsurface Utilities, Drainage Analysis, Geopak Drainage) desired.High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.Experience with TX DOT projects is desirable.Prefer experience or knowledge in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, XPSWMM 1D & 2D, ArcGIS, ArcPro, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, ArcHydro, ESRI, HY-8.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.BGE is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
