Assistant Real Estate Lending Manager I

Reports to: Real Estate Lending Leader
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. Essential DutiesThrough leadership, create a positive, empowering environment for team members to allow for goal success and professional development.Recommend procedures, and processes that lead to an environment of continuous improvement to the Real Estate Lending Leader.Responsible for maintaining loan procedures for the real estate lending department that are compliant with lending regulations.Is responsible for the department when the Real Estate Lending Leader is out of the office.Review Quarterly & Annual HMDA data for quarterly scrub & annual submission.The ability to attain the Financial Counselor Certification (CCUFC) through CUNA within the first 12 months
Duties and Responsibilities

Align individual team member performance goals with the credit union’s strategic plan.Manage department staff; allocate resources to meet operational needs within the department include setting schedules, approving leave time, and improving processes.Will provide support in assisting team with coverage for servicing, underwriting, processing, funding, and closing as needed.Lead and coach employees to ensure that they are meeting expectations and striving to exceed performance expectations by seeking improvement. Provide written documentation of inadequate performance of employees and recommend training/resources needed or disciplinary action to be reviewed with Real Estate Lending Leader.Write, update, and conduct performance summaries for department staff, including monthly development progress reviews.Ensure team members are trained and cross-trained in other related positions. Provide training and orientation for new department employees. Emphasis should be placed on our culture, mission, core values, and employee value proposition from the beginning.Analyze the workflow on an on-going basis to determine staffing requirements. Oversee work schedule for full-time and part-time employees in the department to ensure proper service to the membership.Creating an environment of teamwork between all real estate team members that will facilitate a deeper relationship with the membership thus reaching the branch goals that have been set.A modest understanding of project management principles, along with participation in projects.Create opportunities for expanded member relationships by determining the needs for additional products and services; recommend appropriate credit union solutionsEnsures that the Credit Union’s professional reputation is maintained throughout real estate lending and business-related transactions with members.Assists Real Estate Lending Leader with reviewing exams and/or findings and providing resolutions for outstanding issues.Seek out opportunities for networking in and out of industry that will allow for personal, professional, and credit union development. Create opportunities for us to be a partner of choice.Update procedures, and standards for elevated member experience. Conduct periodic reviews of existing procedures and standards to ensure that they are effective and current.Attend educational opportunities and meetings as required. Prepare pre and post write-ups on the educational experience and ideas for implementation.Other duties as assigned.

Education and ExperienceThree to Five years of experience in a leadership role with a focus on Real Estate lending leadershipA two-year college degree or completion of a specialized certification or licensingWorking knowledge of regulations affecting mortgage lending.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
