Full Stack Software Engineer Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable, and intelligent inaugural Full Stack Software Engineer to take the helm of our technology platform. As the first engineering hire, you’ll take ownership of an existing product that has been developed by an external agency and will lead all future development efforts. Your work will be pivotal in shaping the technical foundation and the future success of the product. This role offers the opportunity to grow into the Director of Software Development, where you will lead and manage a team of engineers as we continue hiring into the future.You will thrive in our startup-like environment, where agility, quick iteration, and adaptability are key. Full Stack Software Engineer ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of the existing product developed by an external agency and lead all future development effortsWork in an agile environment to iterate quickly on features and improvementsCollaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new featuresMaintain and optimize both frontend and backend code to ensure high performance and scalabilityManage database architecture and integrations, ensuring data security and consistencyMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiencyEnsure high code quality, security, and technical documentationBuild a team of developers over time and transition into a leadership roleStay up to date with relevant technologies and industry best practicesFull Stack Software Engineer Position Requirements
Frontend React.js, Next.jsBackend: Redis, Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Security)Database: Amazon Aurora, AWS DynamoDBCloud: AWS (Cloudwatch, EC2, VPC)Startup mindset: fast-moving, adaptive, and comfortable with ambiguity3+ years of full-stack development experience, with a strong focus on both frontend and backendExperience working with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWSExperience working with relational and NoSQL databasesAbility to take over an existing codebase and maintain/extend itExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teamsFull Stack Software Engineer Preferred Requirements
Previous experience taking over development from an external teamExperience with staffing, payroll, or HR technology platformsPrevious leadership experience or desire to move into a leadership role
