A well-established law firm has an opportunity for a Mid-level Attorney to join its Employment Practice Group in the Oakland area. This position involves handling a wide range of employment litigation and providing advice and counsel on employment matters.The role requires a minimum of 1610 billable hours per year, with the potential to earn a bonus for hours worked beyond this minimum.Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent employers in court, arbitrations, before administrative agencies, and at mediations on class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour matters.Defend clients in PAGA-related cases.Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery.Draft and argue motions.Take and defend depositions.Provide employment counseling on federal and state laws as needed.Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school.Active member of the California Bar, in good standing.5+ years of employment litigation experience, with class action and PAGA experience preferred.Strong knowledge of Federal and California state labor and employment laws.Experience with depositions and arguing motions in court.Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to manage cases independently and oversee the work of associates and paralegals when needed.Strategic and creative thinker with practical client counsel experience.Willingness to work a hybrid schedule, with two days in the office.
