Description
The Village of Woodridge, IL (population 33,000) is a progressive, thriving community, located approximately 30 miles southwest of Chicago. Woodridge is a family-oriented community, offering its residents a variety of events and recreational opportunities, parks and natural areas, dining and retail choices and high-quality municipal services.
The Village seeks a skilled and experienced Information Technology professional to perform a variety of complex supervisory, administrative, and technical duties in the development, installation and maintenance technology throughout the Village departments. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, evaluating and performing the technical support activities related to the Village's Information Technology infrastructure and systems with Village departments.
Examples of Duties
Position responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Provides internal technical consulting to include coordinating computer technology for all Village departments, working with department heads to analyze and review technology, and budget preparation. This position will assess impact on Village policies and Technology plan and make recommendations to department heads and Village officials.Recommends consultant services, including evaluating and providing contract coordination and monitoring.Conducts research on technology issues, systems, application methods and equipment; evaluates and recommends purchase of application software and technology hardware; researches, evaluates, recommends, develops implementation plans and maintains Information Systems; prepares bid documents/specifications; procures data services.Acts as Systems Administrator. Installs and maintains upgrades of hardware and software and provides technical support for IT computer systems (Windows Servers/Desktops and VMware environment).Installs, repairs, maintains, and integrates servers, computer components, hardware, software, cable modems/Internet link, cabling, and routers, and monitors e-mail server. Troubleshoots problems; debugs programs.Responsible for assisting users as well as equipment to include: personal computers and laptops (including PD squad cars) and internal servers and Virtual Machines (VM's). IP Phones, Cisco Cores switches and Expansion switches, Cisco Firewalls, Fiber connections, Building Security Cameras, copiers, networked LaserJet's, BoardRoom AVI System, Village Website, Cellular Mobile devices, Point to Point Wireless SCADA connection, Wireless VPN for water meter read transmissions, VPN to ERP system connection, Unitrends Backup Appliance and DR System and Symmetry Keycard security system.Plans, designs, implements, and maintains security solutions and capabilities that enable the Village to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Applies knowledge, best practices, and expertise to implement quality analysis, design, testing, and deployment of standard security policies, guidelines, and controls within enterprise technology environment to protect data, endpoint devices, information systems, network-connected devices, and networks from threats. Interacts closely with product vendors and security providers, and Village staff to ensure the Village network is protected.Develops and implements disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the Village to include nightly backups, offsite backups and the ability to access data in the event of a catastrophe.Manages inventory and planned upgrades with Village Wide Plan. Will work with carriers to add/remove mobile iPhone and Hotspots.

The required education and experience include the following, or an equivalent combination of education and experience:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in computer science or a closely related fieldFive (5) years of progressively responsible related experienceCertified Microsoft EngineerAdditional Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Include:
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of information technology management; considerable knowledge of management information systems; considerable knowledge operating systems, servers, virtual networks, networks; considerable knowledge of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN); and cloud based solutions.Two (2) years experience in administering a networkSkill in operating the listed tools and equipmentAbility to prepare and analyze complex reports; ability to maintain efficient and effective automated systems; ability to develop simple software programsAbility to install and troubleshoot PC systemsAbility to effectively supervise staff and contractors/ consultantsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, village officialsAbility to communicate effective orally and in writingMust hold a valid Illinois Driver's License

Salary and Benefit InformationThis is a full-time exempt-level position with an excellent benefit package, including health, dental and life insurance, IMRF pension, paid vacation time, holidays and sick days. The salary range for this position is $102,668 - $148,720.
We offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees including health care, dental, vision, retirement, deferred compensation plans, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long-term disability, holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
Regularly scheduled Part-time employees receive benefits on a pro-rated basis.
