Overview
In this role, responsibilities will include analyzing & tracking incoming bankruptcy notices and payments on bankrupt and collection of recovery accounts. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills with a strong capability of making sound decisions.
Responsibilities
File Proofs of claim in Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 asset casesProcess bankruptcy discharge and dismissal notices on systemProcess reaffirmation agreementsPrepare legal assignments for attorneys and assists with skip tracing and finding assetsResearch account disputes and recommend appropriate resolutionCompletes Credit Line closure in accordance with guidelinesCharge off delinquent loans and shares on the core systemInvestigate and respond to credit reporting/ Chexsytem disputes in accordance with guidelinesUpdate member's credit account status on the systemReport negative shares charge-offs to ChexsystemAssists members with disability, unemployment and death claimsAssigns vehicles for repossession. Review Stored/Lien Sale noticesPrepared Notices of Intent, Deficiency Balance Notices, Fannie Mae Mortgage Solicitation letters and Breach NoticesPrepare invoices for collections departmentManage phone queues and to ensure inbound call are handled per established service level agreementsProvide support to collection and branch personnel to effectively resolve member situationsPosting of monthly Bankruptcy Trustee, Collection agency, Attorneys and member paymentsCollects past due balances on charged-off loans/shares and negotiates payment arrangements or assists in asset liquidation processEnsures all member contact is conducted in a respectful and professional manner and in full compliance with regulations and the credit union's standardsSupports management decisions and implement directives as required. Perform other duties as assignedQualifications
2 year College Degree PreferredKnowledge of Collection ProcessKnowledge of US Bankruptcy SystemKnowledge of collection process for non-BK charge-off recovery membersSkip Tracing experienceVery strong organizational skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsTeam playerStrong negotiation skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to meet numerous deadlines in fast-paced environmentAbility to work independentlyTarget Base Pay
