- Work collaboratively to lead, develop, and improve the quality management system (QMS) and Environmental, Health, & Safety policies and programs in the Lititz factory across functions and shifts, supporting corporate programs.
- Conduct assessments to monitor compliance and improve quality, environmental, health, & safety policy/procedure development and calibration schedules to reduce QEHS risk to factory operations.
- Develop strategies using leading/lagging indicators to monitor effectiveness of QEHS Programs and continuously improve our internal systems and external supplier monitoring processes.
- Lead cross-functional teams in kaizen events, specialized first responder & specialist trainings, and equipment reviews to develop and implement best practices in the Lititz factory.
- Apply sound statistical methodologies to analyze, interpret, and effectively present test data and results; prepare summary documentation and accept/reject criteria. Monitor and trend quality and EHS data to identify trends and implement countermeasures.
- Enhance QEHS culture and engage the work force through creative training curriculum, incentive programs, and safety committee participation.
- Utilize and improve equipment risk-assessment tools and incoming product inspection procedures to reduce risk in Lititz operation.
- Develop skillsets of direct reports - Quality Technicians, Incoming inspector, Safety Coordinator in subject matter and job duties and capabilities.
- Coordinate and cross functionally execute Corrective/Preventative actions from QEHS incidents, complaints, and audit findings.
- Compliance: Provide leadership for development and implementation of QEHS policies and programs. Maintain technical proficiency in key areas & serve as plant resource for specific program areas. Develop and deliver QEHS training programs to all levels of management and employees. Provide technical guidance on specific issues to Managers, supervisors, and other functional teams to ensure compliance.
- Auditing: Perform or coordinate department/plant-wide inspections of QEHS procedures, equipment, and programs to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements and risk reduction management. Report on findings and work with plant management to develop action plans to address deficiencies. Support plant management and other staff to ensure action plans are implemented and follow up occurs. Conduct audits and visits to key suppliers to improve incoming material conformance.
- Incident Management: Independently execute investigations and analyze incidents/repeat complaints to initiate corrective and preventative action plans; communicating findings as appropriate. Assists Operations' managers, engineers, and supervisors to determine resolution and implement corrective actions.
- QEHS Management System & Continuous Improvement: Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of QEHS Management System aspects and written program documentation. Conducts regular written program reviews and updates. Maintain action registers for verification and validation - follow up to improve compliance/adherence.
- Project Support: Drive continuous improvement through utilization of various QEHS risk reduction program elements. Leads and/or participates on multifunctional improvement teams to provide QEHS problem solving. Interact with project engineers to ensure QEHS issues are identified early in the project design and development process and are evaluated and addressed.
- Training: Create and implement training programs and informational materials as required to convey QEHS policies and procedures for new hire orientation, on-going regulatory requirements, and specialized training.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS:
- Preferred bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or other applicable Engineering Field or 7 years combined experience of related Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety systems work experience.
- Lean/Six-sigma certification of yellow belt minimum, green/black belt preferred
- Minimum of 5 years applicable Quality, manufacturing, process improvement, EHS and leadership experience required.
- Experience Managing ISO 9001 or other Quality Management Systems requirements in a business operations environment, Six Sigma / Lean Expert Certifications desired
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local occupational EHS industry regulations and guidelines (OSHA, EPA, DOT, L&I, other). Preference for Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or similar accreditation.
- Seasoned people leader with experience in leading culture change and improvement while delivering business results is required.
