Job Summary
The School of Engineering Technology (SoET) is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant for the school's main office, who is proactive, creative, positive, and customer focused. This role will serve as the first point of contact and will work under the directive of the SoET Executive Assistant while providing high-level administrative support to the SoET main office administration.
As the primary liaison for faculty, staff, students, and visitors, the Senior Administrative Assistant will foster a welcoming, service-focused, and supportive environment. This position provides general support for school operations, communication, events, and calendars, and will assist with event planning for a variety of SoET functions throughout the year, including seminars, poster events, professional development events, the Tech Expo, and more. Event planning responsibilities will include generating marketing materials (flyers, signage, social media posts, and digital displays), coordinating catering as needed, managing room reservations, handling participant correspondence, and assisting with event execution. Additional responsibilities will include managing student communications, such as assisting with the SoET News on BrightSpace and the SoET Announcements newsletter, updating website, kiosk, social media, and other materials as needed, supporting the organization and functioning of the school's public spaces to ensure they are welcoming, well-organized, and prepared for routine and non-routine activities, and overseeing the faculty and staff workroom and inventory management. This role may offer backup support to Graduate Program Coordinator for purchasing related to faculty research.

What We Are Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma /GED.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative support role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
- Capable to analyze and to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions requiring higher level approval.
- Drafting, proofreading and editing skills.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision.
