Responsibilities include understanding and following a batch ticket (recipe) with a high degree of accuracy for weights and measurements, performing a wide variety of complex testing processes on production batches to measure product's physical or chemical characteristics, and conducting tests on materials from suppliers and batches from production. Most of the job involves color matching using a spectrophotometer to test the standards. Additional duties include performing standard testing procedures with attention to detail and high quality, following daily work plans, accurately documenting work in lab notebooks, recognizing and resolving roadblocks or anomalies, ensuring raw materials are correctly labeled, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, tinting batches without assistance, calculating resin composites, maintaining QC records using a web-based system, preparing records for submission, and performing various tests on lab equipment. Must have a B.S. or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or closely related Long term interest in Quality AND in the paint industry Ability to tolerate strong smells while in the lab About Actalent
