THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.Flexibility is a must.Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.Job Requirements
The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license.TNCC is preferred.Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.Experience or 'Must have' skillsAre RNs required to titrate drips? YesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulinCharge Nurse Yes, do not take patientsAre RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? No monitor techs on unit, RN required to interpret own strip. GE monitorsSchedule Information
Shifts & Scheduling Self scheduling. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.Weekend Requirements 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday. Dayshift are Saturday - SundayHoliday Requirements May have 1 holiday off in an assignmentIs there a call or standby requirement? No additional call/standby shifts required. # Beds 32Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:1Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Level 1 trauma Center, Falls, GSW, blunt trauma, MVAs, trauma patients over age of 15. Ex-lap, crani, specialty neuro-surgery cases. CVA, status post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulinRT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840, V60s Bipap, AirvoFloating Requirements: Float to tele with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as neededUnit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 daysAdditional Notes: Same as SICU (above); Min EOW (could work up to 3 wknds/mo), first to floatAdditional Details
