Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Active AZ license or compact license Job Details THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED. The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred). Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed. Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage. Flexibility is a must. Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts. There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions). COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval. Job Requirements Requires a full 3 years of recent ICU experience. Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV. Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2. Pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation. Schedule Information Self-scheduling options available. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs. 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; Friday-Saturday for Nightshift, Saturday-Sunday for Dayshift. May have 1 holiday off per assignment. No additional call/standby shifts required; though may be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs. Unit Specific Information Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery Medical ICU - Medical Cardiac Overflow Common diagnoses: Level 1 trauma Center, Falls, GSW, blunt trauma, MVAs, trauma patients over age of 15. Ex-lap, crani, speciality neuro-surgery cases. CVA, status post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS, etc. Nurse-to-patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1 Charge Nurse duties: Yes, do not take patients Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, 24/7 RNs required to read their own strips; intrepret own strip. GE monitors Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetatol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulin RT in ICU 24/7 No Tele/Monitor Techs on unit Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Additional Details Travelers may need to float between all 3 ICUs.
