Food Safety & Quality Specialist

Job Title: Food Safety & Quality Specialist Location: Woodland, CA Hours: Full-time, onsite Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety & Quality Specialist to manage Quality Management Systems (QMS) . This role ensures all food safety and quality standards are met while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. This hands-on role requires close collaboration with team members, consistent QMS updates, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. What You Will Be Doing: Ensure QMS compliance with regulatory standards (HACCP, SQF) and customer requirements Drive improvements in Food Safety & Quality culture and track FSQ KPIs Manage internal and external audits and oversee regulatory compliance Review and update product labels for FDA compliance Investigate product failures and implement corrective actions with the production team Coordinate responses for product complaints and recalls Keep records of defects, compliance, and corrective actions Provide food safety and quality training to team members What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field, with 2 years in a similar role Certifications in HACCP and PCQI (required); SQF Practitioner training preferred Strong knowledge of food safety codes and quality management processes Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines To learn more about the workplace culture and this position, please apply For over 50 years, Nelson Connects has empowered employers and job seekers to achieve their unique versions of success.
