Arxada Rochester has an immediate opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist at our Rochester, NY location. This position is a key member of the location’s EHS team and is highly visible position in the plant and global operations. The position provides an excellent platform for potential future growth to the successful candidate. Essential Job Functions: Exhibit Arxada Behaviors of Go Beyond, Collaborate Always, Decide and Drive, and Foster Grit Assist with location Serious Injury Fatality (SIF) prevention including helping to lead deployment and execution of key fatality prevention elements and coaching location leaders. Analyze injury and incident data and assist line management in the implementation of focused injury reduction efforts. Provide expertise to proactively address injury reduction efforts. Assist with the facility’s industrial hygiene program including execution of IH sampling plans, the administration of IH databases and employee exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight and serve as the radiation protection technical resource. Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence. Coach and counsel departmental leaders in the execution of their EHS accountabilities. Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives. Lead and assist with other EHS accountabilities. Deliver written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Train and site personal on EHS permits ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Lead facility personnel to assure compliance with EHS safety standards. Lead facility audits and site inspections to verify compliance with issued permits and regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with employees and contractors to ensure understanding and adherence to EHS permits, policies, and procedures. Build strong working relationships to ensure safety expectations are met. Maintain OSHA-required records (e.g., OSHA 300 log, training records, surveillance), ensuring all documentation is up to date for internal and external audits. EHS professional for the spill response team, lead training and ensure proper equipment, and supplies. Ensure that EHS policies for all on-site personnel including contractorsfollow regulatory guidelines. Act as primary contact for regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA) during inspections or inquiries. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Occupational Safety & Health. At least 2 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Direct experience in chemical process safety with experience with PHA’s. Strong relationship builder employees at all levels of the organization as well as contractors. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and human relations skills. Critical Skills to include Execution, attention to detail, initiative, conflict resolution, customer focus, collaboration, building ownership and commitment, establishing a direction, drive for change, gaining organization support and tenacity To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Certified training from OSHA & EPA on regulations. Must be able to provide certifications. Must be able to present and train individuals and teams on Arxada safety regulatory procedures. The expected salary range for this role is $93,600 - $114,400 ; specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
