Lab Techs are the front line of customer service for the Department of Cinematic Arts Equipment Room, assisting students and faculty members with equipment for classes and productions. A Lab Tech is able to problem solve, take initiative at finding and completing tasks, inspect equipment for damages, perform routine maintenance and maintain an organized workspace. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide exceptional face-to-face or remote customer service to students, faculty and staff. Maintain equipment inventory. Thoroughly inspect equipment before and after each rental. Conduct equipment rentals (check outs) and returns (check ins). Maintain organization and cleanliness of Equipment Room and common spaces. Educate customers on appropriate set up, use, and care of equipment and rooms. Learn new cinema technology and pass that knowledge along to peers and customers. Train current students, faculty, and staff on equipment and rooms. Perform other non-routine tasks as assigned by supervisors. Be on time to assigned shifts. Establish and maintain clear and open communication with staff and supervisors. QUALIFICATIONS Attend Community College of Aurora Department of Cinematic Arts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Be comfortable with Apple/Mac computer technology for inventory & communication. Be able move and lift heavy equipment (up to 50lbs). Be able to work in a loud environment.
