Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Trauma Surgery in California

Job Title: Trauma Surgery APP (NP/PA) Job Specialty: Trauma Surgery Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Mid - 4x10 - 3 PM to 1 AM, 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed Hours: [Information Not Provided] Experience: Trauma/Critical Care Experience License: Active California License Required (NPs must have CA NP furnishing number) Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, CA DEA Must-Have: - Qualified to manage pediatric trauma patients - Clean Malpractice/Background - Currently working in a TJC-accredited hospital Job Description: - Provide coverage for trauma services as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. - Perform low/moderate risk procedures such as laceration repair, IV access/IV insertion, fracture, and dislocation reductions. - Conduct high-risk procedures including G-tube placement, endotracheal intubation, cardioversion/defibrillation, LMA, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, central and arterial line placement. - Support trauma surgeon on call, focusing on monitoring, managing, and discharging patients on the trauma service. - Attend to an average of 20-25 ICU patients per day. - Work alongside another Trauma NP/PA who covers the day shift. - Engage with patients primarily in a Level II Trauma Center setting. - Surgical assisting is not required, but candidates may apply for privileges if qualified.
