Renewable Solar Inc. is a rapidly growing Solar Engineering, Procurement, Construction company (Solar EPC), with an Operations and Maintenance department that is currently managing a commercial plant of 200 sites and 86MW, with expectations to grow that plant to 150MW in 2025. We are looking for a business-minded professional that has the technical and financial capability to lead our rapidly growing O&M department. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Operations Management - Provide strategic management aligned with company goals. - Establish KPIs to evaluate operational efficiency across all sites. - Communicate with key stakeholders as needed. - Conduct key staffing decisions within O&M - Participate as active member of the RSI Executive Steering Group - Proactively look for opportunities to grow O&M revenue and net margins. - Work with Sales to develop O&M proposals for new work 2. Maintenance Planning and Execution - Minimize system downtime across the PV portfolio. - Establish policy and procedures to support O&M operations. - Develop preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance schedules to maintain equipment reliability and extend asset life. - Optimize site performance across portfolio, to include wash schedules - Identify trends, faults and optimization opportunities to enhance plant efficiency. - Ensure seamless handoffs between active construction and O&M. Skills and Qualifications: Technical and Industry Knowledge. In-depth knowledge of solar PV systems, including string inverters, energy management systems, battery energy storage systems. Familiarity with O&M best practices and strategies for preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance. Leadership and People Management. Stong leadership skills to oversee O&M team. Ability to train and develop personnel, provide conflict resolution when necessary. Strategic Thinking and Decision Making. Strong planning skills to align O&M activities with larger company level goals. Capacity to prioritize resources effectively across a portfolio of multiple sites. Financial Acumen. Strong budgeting and financial planning skills, to include cost control, expense tracking, and lifecycle cost forecasting. Communication. Strong communication skills to engage with internal stakeholders, clients and vendors. Must have ability to present technical and financial data in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences. Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree – Required. Engineering, Business degree preferred. Master's Degree – Preferred. MBA is ideal. Supervisory Controls: The Director of Operations and Maintenance reports administratively under the Managing Director (Woods), while reporting day to day operational plant status directly to the Renewable Solar President/Owner (Howze). The Director of O&M is expected to directly supervise 3-5 personnel, and indirectly supervise an additional 5-7 technicians. Evaluation Factors: The Director will be evaluated based on several Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that this position will help develop and formalize. KPIs such as site operational availability, response times, and other industry standards. The Director will also be evaluated based on their ability to successfully address complex challenges as they arise. Pay Scale: The Director O&M compensation will be at market rates, based on qualifications, currently estimated between $120,000 - $160,000 a year.
