PROJECT MANAGER – AVIATION LOCATION: Austin, Texas TYPE: Full-time WORK SETTING: Onsite INDUSTRY: Construction / Airport AREA OF SPECIALTY: Construction / Project Management / Airport Terminal Projects ASLPM is seeking a skilled Project Manager to provide support for aviation program in the TX region. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, as well as experience working in regulated and high-visibility environments like airports. The Project Manager will work closely with airport management, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure that projects are executed smoothly, safely, and on schedule. This resource will lead projects during the design and construction of complex, high value capital improvement programs with a proven record meeting deadlines, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders and delivering projects on-time, on-budget, and within specifications. Leadership qualities including conflict-management and effective communication, are expected. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with a background in construction or engineering who is eager to take on challenging projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment WHAT YOU’LL DO Project Management: Support and manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects, ensuring they progress according to plan. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and airport personnel, to deliver high-quality outcomes. Assist in the development of project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Track project progress, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met. Stakeholder Management: Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment. Coordinate and schedule meetings with stakeholders to discuss project updates, risks, and changes. Assist in addressing and resolving any issues or conflicts that arise between stakeholders, contractors, and the project team. Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks, including safety hazards, operational disruptions, or logistical challenges, and develop mitigation strategies. Escalate critical issues to senior project management when necessary, ensuring appropriate action is taken to minimize project impacts. Budget & Resource Support: Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently. Track expenditures, review invoices, and ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints. Work with procurement teams to support purchasing and vendor management for project supplies and services. Project Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily logs. Prepare and update regular project status reports for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Assist in the preparation of project closeout documentation, including final reports, as-built drawings, and handover packages. Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all projects comply with relevant airport, city, state, and federal regulations, including FAA, TSA, and environmental guidelines. Assist with on-site safety management, ensuring that contractors adhere to safety protocols and best practices. Support safety inspections and audits to ensure worksite compliance with safety standards. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Minimum of ten (10) years leading large Projects from start to finish , including at least five (5) years of experience acting as a project manager or construction manager on airport projects. Experience working in operational environments (e.g., airports, transportation, government) is a plus. Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Understanding of construction processes, project lifecycles, and quality control practices. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and problem-solve in high-pressure situations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a collaborative team player. Familiarity with airport operations, construction safety standards, and environmental regulations is preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on project needs. Knowledge of construction codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes specific to airports or large infrastructure projects, preferred. PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is a plus. Experience with sustainability initiatives, green building standards, or LEED-certified projects is an asset.
