Payroll Specialist Our Higher Education client in Greater Boston is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team for a long-term contract. The ideal candidate has 3 year experience with payroll, comes from the Higher Education space, has exceptional organizational and time management skills and is proficient in ADP Workforce. Applicants must be able to work onsite 5 days per week on the South Shore to be eligible for this role. Compensation: $28-29/hr potential offers may be outside this range, depending on experience If you are interested and meet the qualifications below, apply with your resume for immediate consideration Responsibilities: Maintain accurate bi-weekly and monthly payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data Update payroll records by entering changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions, and saving deductions Gather and examine timesheets to ensure their validity before entering hours into payroll software Capture and process approved annual and sick leave Ensure that compensation for overtime/holiday work is calculated at the appropriate rate and that annual leave is calculated accordingly, if applicable Confirm that legally-mandated and optional deductions have been processed correctly Complete all necessary payroll tasks before the pay run to ensure that staff members are compensated accurately and on time Address queries about payroll-related issues Track Federal Work Study awards Work to resolve discrepancies in payments as a matter of urgency Identify opportunities for operational excellence and improvement Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred 3 years of related Payroll and/or Accounting experience Previous Higher Education experience preferred Experience/familiarity with ADP Workforce required Knowledge of FMLA, sick time, wage garnishments, and tax withholdings Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy with large volumes of data Ability to communicate effectively with people across all levels/departments Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion The Hollister Group is an equal opportunity employer.
