Environmental Technician/Industrial Hygienist

DS Environmental is seeking qualified applicants to fulfill a full-time position in the Denver-metro area. Our team provide an array of industrial hygiene and environmental consulting services to a diverse range of clientele throughout Colorado and western states. More information on DS Environmental can be found at sconsultinginc.com Applicants with current State of Colorado certifications are preferred but may be acquired later depending upon the individual applicant. Desired certifications include State of Colorado certified Asbestos Building Inspector (BI), Air Monitoring Specialist (AMS), Lead-Based Paint Inspector (LBP), Lead Risk Assessor (LRA), Methamphetamine Consultant, 582 PCM Analyst, and certifications/training in Mold, IAQ and Radon testing. Groundwater monitoring and contaminated-soil remediation experience and any other related certifications or OSHA-required training, such as 30-hr construction safety and 40-hr HAZWOPER are a plus. A general knowledge of construction and building systems is also beneficial. Any experience providing training, health & safety, environmental site assessments, or construction/remediation oversight is also a plus. Main Duties Include: • Performing job-walks and providing estimates and proposals to bid on projects • Coordinating projects with other DS personnel using online calendar and cloud storage • Conduct building inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, radon, meth, iaq, etc. • Air sampling (personal air monitoring, post-remediation final air clearances, exposure assessments) • Data interpretation, quality control, and communication with clients and regulators • On-site air sample analyzation via PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy) • Record keeping, data recording, database management, drafting, and report writing • Travel throughout Colorado and neighboring states, with occasional overnight stays • Soil remediation oversight, water and air sampling, IAQ investigations and assessments • Carrying up to 40 lbs. of equipment, entering attics & crawlspaces, wearing a respirator & PPE Minimum Qualification Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED • Current driver’s license with a clean driving record • Willing to travel (day-travel mostly, overnights occasionally but seldom) • Pass an annual health physical and respirator fit test • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug-screen • Punctual, meticulous, courteous, professional, and reliable • Excellent communication, writing, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills • Computer proficiency with experience with MS Office and Adobe programs Applicant Preferred Qualifications: • College Course Work/Degree in a Related Field • Current State of Colorado Asbestos Building Inspector • Current State of Colorado Lead-Based Paint Inspector or Risk Assessor • Current State of Colorado Air Monitoring Specialist • Current State of Colorado Project Designer • Current State of Colorado Methamphetamine Inspector • Mold Inspections & Writing Remediation Protocols • Radon Professional Certification with NRSB or NRPP • NIOSH 582/582-E PCM Sample Analyst • 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hr Refresher • OSHA 30-hr Construction Training • Auto-Cad/Bluebeam Drafting Proficiency • Experience Providing Onsite Safety Training • Experience with Health & Safety Oversight Full-time employee benefits include: • Competitive salary based upon experience, plus 1.5x overtime over 40 hrs. • Profit sharing and 401K plan with 100% employer match up to 6% • Holidays, paid vacation, and personal/sick days • Paid maternity and paternity leave • Health, vision, and dental insurance stipend • All training, testing and certifications paid for • Company vehicle and field equipment • Company iPhone, laptop, and stipend for work clothes • Periodic performance and merit-based bonuses • Small-business environment with flexible schedule and non-corporate policies • Tuition reimbursement for job-related instruction and courses • Student-loan repayment program
