This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and sophisticated National Sales Manager to join our team and make a positive impact as SP enables communities across the nation to thrive as we replace old, unsafe, deferred maintenance infrastructure with new sustainable assets. JOB DESCRIPTION The National Sales Manager at SP will lead the nationwide sales strategy for infrastructure development projects targeting public sector entities, including cities, counties, schools, states, ports, universities, and hospitals. This role requires expertise in selling complex infrastructure solutions such as micro-grids, EV fleets, sewer systems, water meters, LED lighting, HVAC upgrades, turf fields, and bridge rebuilds. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of public procurement processes, public-private partnerships (PPP), and infrastructure development. They will lead and mentor a team of regional sales professionals and drive business growth across high-potential markets, including Hawaii, Florida, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arizona. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Develop and execute a national sales strategy for securing infrastructure projects with public entities including cities, counties, school districts, universities, hospitals, and ports. Lead a nationwide sales team while setting clear performance targets and driving results in key states and regions (HI, FL, GA, NM, LA, MS, AZ) Collaborate with executive leadership to define sales goals, revenue targets, and growth opportunities in both existing and new markets. Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that raise awareness and drive demand for infrastructure solutions. Identify and pursue large-scale opportunities for public sector projects that align with the company's offerings in micro-grids, sewer systems, EV fleets, water infrastructure, LED lighting, and more Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers across government agencies, municipalities, public schools, universities, and healthcare systems Act as the primary point of contact for public procurement departments, public works, and infrastructure planning teams while guiding them through the sales process and contract negotiations Provide tailored solutions for each client ensuring that the company's infrastructure offerings align with their unique needs, budgets, and timelines Represent the company at industry conferences, public sector trade shows, and key meetings with municipal leaders, planning boards, and purchasing agents Ensure that the sales team is delivering exceptional customer service and client satisfaction throughout the sales lifecycle from initial consultation to project delivery Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the public sector Develop relationships with public utilities, transportation agencies, and large public sector organizations to increase the company's market share in essential services projects Oversee the preparation of bids, RFP responses, and detailed project proposals for infrastructure projects in the public sector Lead the negotiation of contracts and public-private partnership agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for both the company and the client Work with internal legal, finance, and project management teams to ensure proposals are compliant with local regulations and financial goals Mentor and coach a team of regional sales representatives providing ongoing training, guidance, and performance management Develop and implement best practices for the sales team while ensuring consistency in the sales process and a high level of professionalism Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and strategy sessions to ensure the team is hitting their targets and addressing challenges in the field QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Business Administration, Business Management, Engineering, or Public Administration. A Master's degree or certification in Sales Leadership, Project Management, or Infrastructure Development is a plus. At least 10 years in infrastructure sales with a proven track record of closing large scale projects for public sector clients Extensive knowledge of public procurement processes Proven experience with selling infrastructure solutions such as micro-grids, EV fleets, sewer systems, water meters, HVAC upgrades, LED lighting, and civil engineering projects Experience working in high-growth sectors with a presence in Hawaii, Florida, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arizona is a plus Strong network and relationships within the public sector and proven ability to build trust with municipal leaders, planning departments, and public utilities Excellent negotiation and contract management skills with a deep understanding of the complexities of public-sector agreements Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing a remote sales team across multiple regions Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify growth opportunities, assess market trends, and drive business decisions based on data Willingness to travel extensively across key regions Mastery of value-adds: Financial, speed, procurement contract, design, quality, maintenance, balance sheet/cost/credit A proven “rainmaker” Strong verbal and written communications skills Complete competency with sales and marketing software tools Computer proficiency US Citizen
