Senior Manager FMO Zone - California Inland Empire

Job Description This position assists the FMO Regional Director in directing car inspection and repair along with customer relations in accordance with Company and industry standards within an FMO zone. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES Directs Assistant Regional Managers throughout a designated zone. Implements key actions of Company Safety Plan and monitors safety. performance of operations through audits. Ensures safe, efficient, and productive operations in accordance with Company goals. Ensures conformance to Company policies and procedures. Serves as local liaison to host railroads, AAR, and FRA. Participates in budget planning, forecasting and execution. Complete understanding of the key financial and operational metrics that create a robust and safe operation. Ability to analyze key metrics, to determine areas of improvement. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from FMO Management, FMO Supervision, and Railroad Management. REQUIREMENTS Associate degree (A.A.) desirable and five to seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Complete understanding of railroad operations and maintenance practices. Experience with the inspection and repair of railcars. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from FMO Management, FMO Supervision, and Railroad Management. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions that involve all levels of FMO organization. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Products including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Working knowledge in UBS, Shop Car Tracking, Railinc, SharePoint, Tableau, and related Railroad Customer systems. Strong knowledge of AAR and FRA rules and regulations for railcar repairs. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Able to travel up to 75%, such travel may be intermittent days or infrequently in periods of up to one to two weeks. Willing to relocate if requested. Required education: Associate or comparable Industry Experience. Frequent travel is required to Company locations and railroad service yards. Areas can have a high volume of railroad traffic and requires being ambulatory and correctable hearing and visual capabilities, which include close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
