We have 4 locations across Texas: Houston, The Woodlands, Austin and San Antonio. Description As a Project Engineer on our Hydrology & Hydraulics team you will: Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of complex drainage features to support development projects Design and analysis of stormwater detention basins, open channels, and storm sewer systems Perform floodplain and mitigation analyses Assist with preparation of technical reports and cost estimates Conduct field visits to understand existing site conditions and confirm accuracy of third party survey Attend industry events and become involved in the community as a representative of WGA Coordinates with technical support or Land Development personnel under H&H Project Manager’s supervision Schedule project deliverables Collect, organize, and evaluate data Organize and file project materials and references Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawing Works closely with project and task team leaders Maintain regular and prompt attendance at WGA Houston office Perform other duties as assigned Required skills and experience Activities include research: preliminary design calculations and field work and observation Take personal responsibility for quality of tasks performed. Participate review of task level assignments Demonstrates willingness to accept new challenges and learn specialized field Familiarize self with firm’s methods, standards, and practices Desired qualities and attributes Good oral and written communication skills, good sense of professional rule Continues on-the-job training. Growing knowledge of profession as organizations, professional development programs or other training. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly and both orally and in writing Educational requirements: Civil Engineering degree and up to 3 years experience. Engineer in Training (EIT) license obtained or scheduled to sit for exam Experience in AutoCad is a plus Experience in Microsoft Office Suite Must have exposure to: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and GIS software Exposure to general Drainage/H&H engineering design is a plus
