Overview: Luminate, a management consulting firm in power and renewable energy, is seeking a Human Resources director with leadership skills to focus on HR, benefits, payroll administration and compliance, recruiting and talent management, employee relations, and to lead, coordinate, and assist an operations team responsible for all office and project support related functions. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic performer, who is a self-starter, assertive, discerning, and detail oriented. The position is hybrid in-office and will report directly to the COO. Key Responsibilities Payroll and Benefits Administration: Facilitate payroll and manage employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries. Stay current on employment laws and regulations, ensuring company policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal laws. Talent Acquisition and Management: Lead the onboarding, and offboarding of staff and assist with recruitment initiatives and talent management strategies, ensuring the acquisition and retention of top talent. Leadership / General Administrative: Lead / coordinate / assist administrative, accounting, project support, and marketing teams. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, prepare reports, and assist with various administrative tasks. Manage third-party service providers and vendors, including payroll, benefits, IT, accounting, insurance, marketing, etc. Performance Management: Support the implementation of performance management processes, providing support to supervisors and employees on performance evaluations, goal setting, and career development. Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's business objectives, fostering a positive and high-performing workplace culture. Policies / Employee Relations: Assist with the development of, and administer, Company policies. Serve as a trusted advisor for employees and leadership, resolving complex HR issues, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring fair and consistent application of policies. Training and Development: Support the design and implementation of professional development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of employees at all levels. Skills / Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree a plus). 10 years of progressive experience, with at least two years in a leadership role. Fully proficient in Microsoft Office and project management / accounting software. Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Highly organized; able to adapt quickly, handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Proactive, motivated self-starter with sound business acumen and judgment. Positive, enthusiastic attitude. Discerning and able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is a plus.
