Job Summary: The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, management, and optimization of the SCCM/MECM infrastructure. This role will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for SCCM/MECM, offering mentorship and training to junior team members, and ensuring the organization's endpoint configuration management, security compliance, and patch management strategies are efficient and reliable. Please note that this position requires passing a California Law Enforcement Telecommunications (CLETS) background check, and authorization to work in the United Stats (see below for specifics) https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis Duties and Responsibilities: Endpoint Configuration Management: Design, implement, and manage endpoint management solutions using SCCM/MECM and Intune. Create and oversee deployment packages, task sequences, and application deployments to ensure smooth operational performance. Security Compliance: Ensure that all endpoints are in compliance with internal security policies and industry regulations. Implement security baselines, configurations, and ensure endpoint protection is current and effective. Patch Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive patch management strategies for both operating systems and applications. Monitor and report on patch compliance, identifying and addressing any areas that require improvement. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex endpoint-related issues efficiently. Provide escalated support for unresolved endpoint issues, ensuring timely resolution. Perform other duties as assigned. Documentation: Maintain up-to-date, accurate documentation for all endpoint management processes, configurations, and system modifications. Create and revise knowledge base articles for common issues and their resolutions, fostering team knowledge and operational efficiency. Automation: Identify opportunities for process improvement through automation in endpoint management. Develop scripts and workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention in recurring tasks. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with SCCM/MECM administration, including patch management and software distribution. Proven experience in administering MECM/SCCM in large enterprise environments. Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and Active Directory. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus. Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA, Microsoft 365 Certified) are preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in managing MECM and Intune in large, enterprise-scale environments. Strong understanding of Active Directory, Windows operating systems, and Group Policy. Knowledge of endpoint security technologies (e.g., Microsoft Defender) and security best practices. Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, VBScript, or similar tools. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members effectively.
