Job Details: Job Summary: Manage and support complex and major systems contracts with customers to ensure all requirements and obligations are met. Responsibilities include post-contract support and fostering the growth of assigned customer accounts and pre-contract work for new contracts. Work closely with the Project Management Team and other project team members to identify, analyze, and communicate potential financial, performance, and compliance risks. Ensure ongoing management of internal and external contractual obligations and keep management updated on contract performance. Work with bids and proposal team on growth opportunities in including new contracts and change orders. Coordinate with the Subcontracts team on all subcontract matters. This role involves significant decision-making authority with limited supervision. Remote candidates will be considered with roughly once-a-month travel to Cubic office locations or customer facilities. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Manage customer contract formation and administration for complex, major systems contracts (typically fixed price) for transit systems including hardware, software, installation, banking, retail, and other services for large local government public transit customers, from initial proposal through performance to closeout. Lead contractual aspects of major proposals, ensuring strategic agreements, including those from subcontracts, align with the proposal's scope, schedule, remedies, and intellectual property considerations. Act as the contracts department's primary contact for prime contract and project personnel, handling all contract-related correspondence. Monitor contract deliverables for compliance with contract requirements. Post-contract management to resolve contractual performance issues, including claims, changes, and terminations, with minimal senior leadership intervention. Coordinate submission and negotiation of complex, high-value contract proposals, including change orders. Oversee project Change Management and coordinate contractual activities; work with the Project Manager to develop strategies and recommendations for resolving contractual issues. Communicate with and advise Management on contract and subcontract-related activities and their impact on projects. Prepare contract reviews and reports on issues, including subcontract matters. Draft and edit contractual agreements, terms, and conditions; identify flow-down requirements to subcontracts based on prime contracts, ensuring consistency with company policies. Coordinate with the Subcontracts team on project-related subcontracts to address: (a) Compliance with project requirements, including terms, schedule, and scope of work. (b) Subcontractor performance issues, including claims, changes, and terminations. () Subcontract mitigation plans to ensure program continuity. Maintain complete contract files and ensure compliance with contract requirements across all functional departments. Perform other related duties as directed by the Contracts Director. As required, supervise junior team members or direct the work of others within the Contracts function. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements through working with Cubic's legal department. Stay current on legal and regulatory updates affecting contracts and agreements. Minimum Job Requirements: Four-year college degree in a technical, finance, or business-related discipline. Ten (10) years of progressive experience in customer-facing contract management roles involving complex system integration-type commercial contracts. Demonstrated leadership ability in Contract Management for high dollar value fixed price contracts for infrastructure system-based infrastructure solutions with commercial customers which include development, service agreements, hardware and software installation and maintenance agreements, etc. supporting government agency customers. Thorough knowledge of prime formation and administration activities, and proven ability to effectively negotiate complex terms, conditions, and prices involving major systems. Thorough understanding of the identification and management of flow-downs to subcontractors. Ability to provide workable solutions to address a wide variety of contractual challenges. Must be able to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision, working extended hours, as required. Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills are imperative. Some domestic travel may be required. Cubic Pay Range: $130,000 - $160,000 benefits. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
