JOB SUMMARY This role supports a litigation team within a law firm that handles a variety of complex cases, including areas such as constitutional law, wildfire and crisis litigation, civil rights, First Amendment, property rights, class actions, and eminent domain. The team is involved in all litigation stages across federal and state courts, from initial filings through discovery, motions, trials, and appeals. This position primarily requires on-site work, with some flexibility for remote tasks. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys and support staff to manage cases from start to finish, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, organizing case files, updating discovery logs, and coordinating document production. Additional responsibilities include preparing for depositions and hearings, managing exhibit materials and witness outlines, conducting legal and factual cite checks, handling document review, and collaborating with litigation support for database management using eDiscovery software. In this role, you will need to meet a 1,575-hour annual billable target, work extended hours as needed, travel for case-related support, and demonstrate strong client service skills. Reliability, punctuality, and a high standard of professionalism are essential. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Eligibility to work and bill as a paralegal under relevant state code requirements. Bachelor’s degree. At least five years of recent experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department. Proficiency in the latest Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (such as PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH). Experience with eDiscovery platforms like iPro and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Strong legal research skills, with experience using databases like Westlaw or Lexis. Knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and local regulations. Experience in document management, production, and eDiscovery processes. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team. High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
