Sterling Search Partner is helping a growing law firm with its search for a Financial Services Litigation Attorney. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated litigation attorney to join our legal team. The litigation attorney will be responsible for representing clients in civil or criminal legal disputes, managing cases from inception through resolution, and providing strategic advice and legal counsel to clients on a variety of legal matters. The ideal candidate should possess strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, and have a deep understanding of litigation processes and courtroom procedures. Key Responsibilities: Case Management: Handle all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation investigation, filing of pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and post-trial matters. Client Representation: Represent clients in civil or criminal court proceedings, arbitration hearings, and mediations, advocating on their behalf in accordance with legal standards and ethical guidelines. Legal Research and Writing: Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies, prepare legal briefs, memoranda, and other documents, and draft legal arguments and motions. Discovery Process: Manage the discovery process, including the preparation and review of documents, responses to interrogatories, and taking depositions. Settlement Negotiations: Work to resolve cases through alternative dispute resolution methods, such as settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration, while protecting clients' interests. Court Appearances: Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other court proceedings, presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and making persuasive legal arguments. Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their case and advising them on legal options and strategies. Trial Preparation: Prepare and organize exhibits, witnesses, and other trial materials; conduct mock trials or other preparation activities. Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure thorough case preparation and effective representation. Stay Current on Legal Developments: Keep abreast of changes in laws and legal procedures, and ensure that the firm's practices and advice reflect the latest legal standards. Qualifications: Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Licensing: Active membership in the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of litigation experience, with a strong track record of success in managing complex legal cases. Specific experience in [area of law, e.g., commercial litigation, personal injury, employment law, criminal defense] is preferred.
