Human Resources Generalist

HR Generalist Location: Hybrid (Rockville, MD) Industry: Human Resources Pay: $34–$37/hour (Contract-to-Hire); $77k–$83k/year (Permanent) About Us: Addison Group is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for our client, a well-established organization experiencing growth and transformation. Responsibilities: Lead the onboarding process to create a positive experience for new employees. Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR-related inquiries and issues. Manage employee relations matters, ensuring a fair and supportive workplace culture. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including FMLA and OSHA requirements. Administer HR programs, including benefits, leaves, and performance management. Maintain accurate employee data within HR systems and produce detailed reports. Support payroll operations and collaborate with other departments as needed. Review and update HR policies to align with organizational objectives and legal standards. Participate in strategy discussions to support HR process improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certifications preferred). 2–5 years of HR experience, with expertise in employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. Proven experience working with unionized workforces. Bilingual in Spanish and English required. Strong understanding of employment laws and HRIS systems (Paycom experience is a plus). Ability to manage competing priorities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
