We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading General Contractor in the Austin, Texas area, known for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team that specializes in highways, bridges, earthwork, and utility installations, playing a vital role in shaping the region’s landscape. About the Role: As an Estimator, you’ll be at the forefront of the preconstruction process, preparing accurate and competitive bids for a variety of heavy civil projects. The role involves collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver cost-effective and comprehensive estimates. Key Responsibilities: Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop detailed cost estimates. Perform quantity take-offs and prepare cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment. Evaluate and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure competitiveness. Work closely with project managers and engineers to refine project scopes and budgets. Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimation tools. Identify potential project risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them. Qualifications: 3-5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction. Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and equipment. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. What’s on Offer: Competitive salary ($80,000 - $100,000, based on experience).
