Staff Accountant Location: Remote Part Time (up 30 hours) $45k - $50k Overview: Our clients are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant responsible for day-to-day accounting operations and month-end/year-end closing transactions. This role reports to the Finance Director and requires working closely with other team members to streamline financial processes, manage cash flows, and maintain compliance with financial regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include some or all the following and are not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee's specific job duties, priorities, and performance expectations are detailed in their individual performance plans. Monthly Closing Process: Assisted with financial statement preparation, audit preparation, and month- end/year-end transaction processing. Record accruals, AP/ AR, depreciation, prepaids, and payroll entries. Process intercompany transactions against the Memorandum of Agreement. Process loan portfolio activities against the Portfolio Balance Report. Process AMEX and expense reimbursement reports for all staff to ensure accurate coding. Record transactions against amortization schedules. Support company fund team with payments, grant tracking, financial due diligence, and monitoring portfolio balances. Manage cash flow. Prepare wire transfers and ACH transactions, ensuring proper authorization protocols are followed. Financial Statement and Audit: Provided month-end close support, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting research. Coordinated annual audits and form 990; prepared and coordinated preparation for annual reports. Primary IT Systems: General Ledger: Business Central (Microsoft Suite) Budgeting Software: MIP to SAGE Intacct Loan System: Nortridge Loan Servicing Authorities: Ensure the privacy of all Personal Identifiable Information (PII) obtained from employees, clients, and other sources, and protect such information from unauthorized disclosure. Oversee transactions and approvals in the normal course of business, including Research new circumstances and propose accounting treatment consistent with GAAP and/or other regulatory requirements. Direct / Indirect Reports: None Knowledge and Experience: Five years of accounting experience, preferably in non-profits, lending institutions, public accounting, and/or internal audit. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Strong troubleshooting methodology and analytical skills. Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions, including the ability to maintain information confidentiality. Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, and desire to achieve. Effective electronic communications with a high degree of precision and detail. Excellent prioritization and organization skills and effective time management to succeed in a semi-autonomous, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, file share systems, and Contact Relationship Management applications.
