Cost Estimator

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and experienced professional with a background in drafting to join our team as a Costing Estimator . Position Summary: The Costing Estimator will play a vital role in estimating materials, labor, and associated costs from project drawings through to final proposals. The role also includes conducting interim and post-job evaluations. Success in this position will require teamwork, excellent time management, attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with store fixtures and marketing displays is a strong advantage. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed material takeoffs and labor estimates based on sketches and engineering specifications. Research and specify materials for product use. Prepare and maintain costing documentation. Analyze actual labor, material, and costs, comparing them with original estimates. Collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy. Review BOMs to align with current manufacturing practices. Qualifications: Associate’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong project and time management abilities. Proficient in both oral and written communication, with strong mathematical skills. Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Solid experience in manufacturing, costing, reporting, and variance analysis. Comprehensive knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. Skilled in reading and interpreting complex drawings and specifications. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD is a huge plus.
