This critical leadership role is dedicated to overseeing the instructional quality, citywide assessment, and school assignment departments, ensuring that students with disabilities receive appropriate, data-based services in compliance with state and federal regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, including managers, in the development and implementation of clear, research-based approaches to special education. They will also be accountable for fostering a culture of high expectations, providing continual training, and building the capacity of staff to address issues related to services for students with disabilities. Applicants must have a Master's degree in a relevant educational field, a teaching certificate, and a principal endorsement or a valid State of Illinois General Administrative Certificate. A minimum of seven years of experience in district leadership or similar roles supporting diverse learners, and at least five years of supervisory experience, are required. The role demands strong leadership, team building, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage large, high-priority projects within a complex organization.
