Job Summary The IT Project Manager- Contractor is an experienced project leader, responsible for leading all facets for IT related projects, from strategic scope, requirements gathering, resource planning, stakeholder coordination, status reporting, risk and issue management, and financial oversight. This role will be responsible for managing multiple high-impact projects within the IT organization, ensuring successful delivery within defined timelines and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to tailor project management approaches (Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid) to meet the specific needs of each project, considering team capabilities, organizational culture, and stakeholder requirements. This is a pivotal role supporting coordination and execution across multiple functional areas or programs and requiring strong leadership and skilled problem solving. Success is defined by the effective coordination of efforts across departments, utilizing EPMO processes, methodologies, and application of best practices. Effective outcomes will require this leader to see the big picture and meet customer requirements, delivering on project milestones and expectations such as status reports and project plans, and communication updates to stakeholders or the executive team. Essential Job Functions Leadership & Team Management: Partner with stakeholders, including Solution Architects, Software Developers, Business Process Owners, and others, to estimate project efforts, define deliverables, and set project milestones. Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures, dependency alignment, and timeline management. Recognize when and how to integrate Traditional (Waterfall) and Agile project management approaches. Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify potential barriers to project success and develop mitigation plans. Work closely with leadership to resolve issues and overcome challenges. Process & Methodology Implementation: Ensure organizational effectiveness by implementing and managing processes, methodologies, and standards that align with best practices in project management. Communication & Reporting: Prepare and present project status reports to various levels of the organization, including senior leadership. Ensure clear and consistent communication across all project stakeholders. Financial Management: Achieve financial objectives by forecasting resource needs, preparing project budgets, and managing expenditures. Track labor and capital spend, and support root cause analysis when necessary. Continuous Improvement: Apply lessons learned from previous projects to improve future initiatives and drive organizational success. Safety & Compliance: Participate in safety and health program activities, report hazards, and support safety committee activities. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Agile Certified Practitioner, PMP, or similar Project Management Certification is a plus. 3-5 years of experience as an IT project manager, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects. Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expertise in both Traditional Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, or others as appropriate. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Ability to manage ambiguity and lead through complex challenges. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to instill trust and confidence. Financial acumen and the ability to manage project budgets effectively. Familiarity with ERP systems like JDE E1, Oracle EBS, and Fusion is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications. Experience with Planview/PPM Pro is preferred is beneficial. Background as a Business/System Analyst or Software Developer/Engineer is valuable, but not required. Pay Rate: $40-$60 an hour This is a contract role.
