The Sherwin-Williams Company - IT Director, Project Management
Location: Cleveland, Ohio The IT Director, Project Management, will be responsible for elevating our strategy to accelerate organic growth and margin expansion by driving Portfolio Management Excellence. This position will support active portfolio management projects across the Sherwin-Williams enterprise. The IT Director, Project Management must be able to effectively lead and influence teams to drive priorities across all business functions and deliver on time and on budget. Job duties include: Managing a team of project managers and overseeing all aspects of projects within multiple business units to ensure timelines and budgets are met with a high standard of quality. Agile knowledge and implementation experience to help initiatives/projects transitioning from waterfall to agile. Leading and supporting complex initiatives/projects that require both waterfall and agile methodologies. Partnering with cross-functional leaders to collaborate on initiatives that are partially traditional and agile. Influencing all levels of operations to drive culture and performance improvement. Overseeing and supporting a portfolio of projects being implemented in the enterprise. Managing resource allocation for project work and staffing plans according to budget. Building relationships across the enterprise to effectively remove roadblocks in project delivery. Developing clear change management strategies and assisting team members with the change management plan. Implementing best practices and tools to increase efficiency and achieve project goals. Building rapport with internal and external customers to handle escalations based on resource constraints. Tracking and reporting overall progress of all projects to executive leadership. Designing, developing, implementing, and improving processes for the enterprise project management office. Implementing and managing project governance standards for project delivery across the enterprise. FORMAL EDUCATION: Required:
Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years of experience in Information Technology or Business. Preferred:
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Lean Portfolio Management (LPM). KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 12+ years of IT experience. 8+ years of experience managing direct reports. 8+ years of experience in program management. 8+ years of experience in portfolio management. Strong understanding of product development methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Lean, Waterfall). Strong presentation and facilitation skills, coaching and mentorship experience.
