Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)

will lead compliance and privacy initiatives across SCNY organizations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and best practices. This position is appointed to Together for Youth’s benefit packages and employment structure but will serve in a pivotal capacity supporting SCNY as a whole. The salary range for this position will be: $177,500-$187,500. As a key member of the leadership team, the CCO will work directly with the Chief Executive Officer and provide critical updates to the Board of Directors. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to implement effective compliance programs and policies that align with the organization’s mission and values. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and oversee compliance programs that align with organizational and regulatory requirements across SCNY. Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer, establishing and maintaining comprehensive privacy and confidentiality protocols. Guide and support compliance teams, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical behavior. Prepare and present detailed compliance reports and updates to the Board of Directors. Provide training, guidance, and strategic direction to management teams on regulatory compliance and best practices. Lead internal compliance reviews and investigations, ensuring thorough and objective resolution of issues. Act as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders on compliance matters. Collaborate with insurance brokers on applications and claims processing. Coordinate and participate in audits, reviews, and external examinations. Ensure ongoing compliance monitoring for business associates and partner organizations. Promote an organizational culture that prioritizes trauma-informed care principles and the Sanctuary Model. Core Competencies: Proven leadership in compliance programs, with the ability to inspire trust and accountability. Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage across all organizational levels. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements. Adept at managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Experience in leading teams, conducting investigations, and preparing comprehensive reports. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Certification in a compliance-related field (e.g., CHC, CCEP) is a plus. 5–10 years of progressive experience in compliance, preferably within not-for-profit or child welfare sectors. Demonstrated experience in conducting workplace investigations and managing complex compliance issues. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed. Why Join Us?
