Nov 18 2024 As Sr. Director, Strategy and Operations, Anti-infectives and Respiratory TA, you will drive accountability, leadership and focus on strategic business planning and operational excellence, ultimately improving business performance, effectiveness of evidence generation and medical support for the AIR portfolio. This individual plays a key role in supporting the VP and TA Head, as well as working closely with the AIR Medical Leadership Team. The role is accountable for driving medical planning and operational excellence within the department (development of strategic priorities, objectives, measures/metrics, innovative and effective processes). Additionally, the role will act as Chief of Staff, working with HR and the Medical Leadership Team to improve overall staff engagement, development, and career progression. The role also leads the Medical Communications and Scientific Training Function on behalf of the TA, ensuring holistic Medical Communications & Scientific training plans for US market needs are established and delivered for key priority assets. Helps to set the TA’s strategic priorities. Strategically manages the priorities of the TA VP and the US MALs, including evaluating opportunities and determining fit with other priorities. Leadership team meeting facilitation, agenda development, and follow-up. Internal and External Communications: drafting newsletters, reports, business cases, or presentations for the TA VP. Monitoring information flow: Sometimes acting as a gatekeeper, ensuring involvement in a project or decision-making process at the right moment. Planning and leading TA team retreats, and other special events. Project/Business Management
Overseeing large, cross-functional and/or organization-wide projects or initiatives. Bring together multiple stakeholders and help drive decisions. Researching, benchmarking, analyzing data, and making recommendations. Creating systems and processes to streamline operations. Manages Operations Director and project management resources, as well as additional third-party outsourcing needs. Medical Communications & Scientific Training
Leads function for the development of medical communication assets and creates scientific communication plans, tactics, field medical educational material and external tools in alignment with the US Medical affairs leads. Accountable for overall materials required within Market for medical accuracy, appropriateness, and approvals. The role will work in close partnership and collaboration with Global Scientific Communications and/or Publications organizations and the US Medical Information Team. Leads annual strategic and budget planning for the TA. Makes recommendations on budget and headcount allocations to support priorities. Projects future budget and headcount needs. Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor’s Degree in relative area of study. 5 + years of project management experience (i.e. medical business operations, project management, and medical policy). Experience in managing the navigation of decisions and/or their execution through multiple parties in major, matrixed organizations. Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Master’s level Graduate Degree or Pharm D. Excellence in program and project management · Experience of working in challenging business environments with senior GSK leaders, line leadership/executive teams. Excellence and clarity in written and verbal communication · Integrity in business and personnel confidentiality. A strong sense of initiative, urgency, pragmatism, judgment and influencing skills - an ability to make things happen. Consistent attention to detail, ability to deliver to demanding deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality. Detailed knowledge and understanding of GSK Pharma/R&D, people, structure, decision-making processes, business objectives and strategy.
