Role Overview: The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer will drive quality initiatives for our assigned suppliers. This role will ensure compliance, implement quality plans, manage supplier audits, select suppliers through qualification processes, and utilize supplier scorecards to drive continuous improvements.
Roles and Responsibilities: Supplier Quality Assurance and Development: Oversee supplier qualifications, develop action plans, conduct audits, monitor performance, and assist key suppliers in achieving industrial standards of excellence. Supplier Selection and Qualification: Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers through rigorous assessment processes to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. Quality Plan Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive quality plans for suppliers, ensuring alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements. Supplier Performance Management: Utilize supplier scorecards to monitor and evaluate supplier performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality and reliability. Audits and Compliance: Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement corrective action plans as needed. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, to ensure seamless integration of supplier quality initiatives. Communicate effectively with suppliers to address quality issues and drive improvements. Technical Expertise: Apply your technical knowledge and analytical skills to solve complex quality issues. Utilize various internal and external resources to make informed decisions. Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing supplier quality and overall supply chain performance. Travel a minimum of 20%.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Quality). Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality.
Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, ideally within the Aerospace or Automotive industry. Experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The base pay range for this position is $113,300 - $165,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on November 17, 2024.
