ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Receives supplies from vendors, ensuring that incoming supplies match purchase orders (i.e., Lowe's, Abatix, etc.)

· Maintains an inventory of all cleaning supplies (i.e., chemicals for carpet cleaning, fire cleaning, mold remediation, etc.). When supplies are needed, obtains proper authorization from Operations Manager, and orders additional supplies, completing necessary purchase orders.

  • Maintains an inventory of all company-owned equipment. This is maintained on an excel spreadsheet and requires the operation of a computer using Microsoft products.
  • Moves materials and items from receiving area to designated storage areas.
  • Ability to learn to use a forklift, attend a certified class, and become certified in the operation of forklifts. (The company pays for the certified class).
  • Moves de-humidifiers, or other heavy items off trucks. These can weigh 60 to 65 pounds. Warehouse Specialist should use ramps, dollies or a forklift to move any heavy equipment.
  • Secures supplies and equipment in the locked storage areas of the warehouse.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in other designated storage areas.
  • Reads work orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed.
  • Issues equipment to appropriate personnel (field staff or office staff). This includes such things as water damage equipment, de-humidifiers, air movers, fans, crawl-space dryers, etc.
  • Fills the load list (equipment determined by an estimator to be needed for a project). This includes such things as a 10-foot ladder to reach a chandelier, generator for power, 10 gallons of water for mixing chemicals, etc.
  • Evaluate the list of goods requested by estimators. If list does not seem complete, offer suggestions of other equipment that might be needed on the job.
  • Issues chemicals as needed. Chemicals are in closed containers and does not require that the Warehouse Specialist mix any chemicals. Ensure proper safety equipment is issued to the employee along with the chemicals.
  • Performs fleet maintenance. Monitors vehicles performance and review repair orders submitted by field supervisors regarding the vehicles. Arranges for vehicle to be repaired. Arranges for lube jobs, oil filter changes, etc.
  • Ensures warehouse is accessible and safe for warehouse workers and other staff. This includes organizing the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Wears proper safety equipment as needed.
  • Operates all company equipment in a safe manner. When necessary, operates company vehicles following all laws and rules of the road.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • The Warehouse Specialist occasionally assists the other Warehouse employee:
  • Moves furniture within the warehouse (couch, mattress, etc.)
  • Assists with receiving customer's goods, helping unload the truck and load the vault inside the warehouse.
  • Assist with operations in the ozone room, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed.
  • Occasionally assist field staff in a helper role. Might include such things as: cleaning walls, helping to remove customer's goods, removing carpets and pads and other general errands.
  • Drives to store or home center for additional supplies or materials.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding of water damage equipment and asbestos equipment preferred
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to communicate professionally with vendors
  • Must possess organizational skills at a high level
  • Proven ability to track and maintain inventory within a warehouse setting
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Certified forklift driver, or ability to attend company-sponsored class and obtain forklift certificate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand (up to 75% of the time); walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb (on ladders or stairs) or balance.

The employee occasionally must operate a company vehicle following all laws and rules of the road. This includes both standard vehicles and 10' to 25' moving trucks.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds. The employee will be able to utilize ramps and forklifts.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
