DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

is seeking a strategically driven, detail-oriented and proactive Business Development professional to increase company revenue by leveraging client relationships, identifying profitable business opportunities, and developing long-term business growth strategies. The responsibilities of the
Director of Business Development
include recommending ways to improve teaming and priming opportunities, attending industry meetings and networking events, and active participation in industry organizations. The successful candidate should also be able to assess business risks by analyzing competitive, financial, and economic data.
The
Director of Business Development
should be persuasive, have strong business acumen, be adept at negotiating sound business deals, and demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Build solid relationships with customers, both prime and agencies.
Develop in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities.
Direct marketing efforts by presenting market research and suggesting strategies to expand the market.
Research emerging trends and recommending new company offerings to satisfy customers’ needs.
Attend appropriate conferences and industry events, and actively engage with key industry associations.
Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.
Demonstrate proven track record of generating revenue growth and increasing market share.
Present business or marketing opportunities to company executives.
Prepare and present annual strategic Business Development and Revenue Forecast Plan.
Oversee the Proposal Management function.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, engineering, or related field; master's degree is advantageous.
Minimum of ten (10) years of A/E/C industry experience.
Familiarity and work experience with the northeast public agencies’ capital improvement programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional leadership and management skills.
Ability to think strategically with a deep understanding of the firm’s vision, approach, and culture.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to build lasting relationships.
Experience in Lead Generation and Contract Negotiation.
Excellent presentation skills.
Proficient in Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Adobe and MS Office.
Detail-oriented and persuasive.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000 (Commensurate with Experience)
